My name is Cheyanne Kellogg. I am all about the outdoors! I am trained in birth work, holistic herbal remedies, and Reiki. I am an Air Force Veteran and spent years exploring the world. Now my efforts are focused on new Mama's here in the Summerville and Charleston region of South Carolina. I first learned about Doula work from one of my coworkers in the service. She was raving about how happy she was to have another woman there for her through her birthing experience. I fell in love with this concept and decided I wanted to make sure that every woman had the opportunity to feel this love and support through their birthing process!
Aside from being a doula, I am trained in many different healing modalities including master level Reiki and holistic herbalism.
I am passionate about providing support through all stages of birth work from pregnancy to post partum care. My goal is to empower women of all backgrounds and walks of life to have the knowledge and tools to make educated decisions about their pregnancy, birth, post partum care and breast feeding. I want to work with you to make sure you create a birth plan that works for you whether you want an at home fully natural birth or hospital birth experience. As a mother you deserve the support and confidence to make these decisions along your beautiful journey. Guaranteed you will have no less than a million questions to ask. Should I get an epidural? Is a home birth too risky? How do I get my baby to latch? What do I pack when I am getting ready to go to the hospital? How do I go about doing a water birth? These are all super normal questions to have. We will be able to talk through all of these moments and ideas. No worries, I will be here for you every step of the way!
A doula is a trained professional labor companion who provides physical and emotional support to mothers and their partners through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum periods. For example, a doula may offer physical support by way of acupressure or pointed massage during labor to ease stress or pain. During pregnancy a doula could help the birther come up with a birth plan and birth preferences alongside with on call support. Post partum care may look like helping the newborn latch after birth, helping new parents settle into their home, doing light chores like preparing food or doing new baby's laundry while the parents rest or feed the new baby. These are just a few examples of the support that a doula can provide to you. We are also here to help the partners learn how to support the new mother throughout the stages of pregnancy, birth, and post partum! However, doulas do not offer medical advice or treatment.
